Dirty Chai Latte

I’ve never committed to a writing project. I’ve started however many blogs throughout the past few years, and I get real passionate and real determined until I lost interest and let the whole thing go.

“It’s too stupid.”

“It’s too cringy.”

“No one cares”

“The writing is meh.”

I’ve told myself all of these things and, though it might be true, I think it’s best that I stop with the excuses and just start something and follow through. I have such a hard time actually following through. I drop activities, hobbies, and experiences so easily and I can’t help but feel like a flake.

I used to stick to things. Band? I spent hours in sweltering sun and Friday nights drowning in an layered uniform while belting out notes in half-time shows. Did I have anything better to do? No! But I very well could have just sat around after school and watched double the amount of King of Queens and Everybody Loves Raymond reruns. IB? That shit was the hardest thing I had done in my life at the time and I could have quit for the relative ease of AP and Honors classes, but I wanted to finish. I had already started, I was already used to the courseload, and, by the time I went through the ceremony in junior year, I new I was locked in. There was no point in trying to back out then.

I want that determination back. So I going to create it through grueling willpower and amounts of caffeine that may or may not exceed the recommended daily limit.

So—I am going to review things. I am going to review one thing each day and post it here.

Today?

A dirty Chai from my new favorite coffee shop!

Spice: Very warming, lingers in the vest way possible

Milk: Steamed to perfection (I can’t imagine why it wouldn’t be)

Heat: Not too hot to drink. I did burn my tongue when I first took a sip, but it was smooth sailing after that!

Ultimately? 8/10.
